ARMSCOR - Arms Control And Asset Tracking System

Background

Armscor is the technology and acquisition partner of the South African Government and the Department of Defence. The control of defence control items, guided by International and local laws, is critical to Armscor and the arms industry in South Africa at large. iDempiere ERP, is the platform on which this solution was customised.

Functionality Deployed

End-user certificate management - The processes of managing, applying and granting of End User Certificates (EUC) and End User Undertakings (EUU).

Export/Import/Domestic management - The processes of managing, applying and granting of permits to move control items Internationally and domestically. Items imported/exported temporarily are tracked for return. Shipping instructions are requested and electronically updated on the system.

Document Management System Integration - Scanning functionality was implemented and integrated into iDempiere. Documents are eventually stored in Sharepoint's repository.

Escalation and System alerts - Permits carry strict timelines. These and performance measures are managed via system alerts, emails and reports.
