nTier wins tender at South African Weather Services

After being shortlisted by the South African Weather Services (SAWS), nTier have gone ahead to win the Request for Quote (RFQ) tender. Soon after nTier were shortlisted, they were asked to do a presentation, together with a question and answer session, at SAWS offices.After this they were chosen as the preferred supplier. The scope of the 'Implementation of the 'Research Management Framework' tender includes:

  • Solution requirements specification
  • Management of projects
  • A web based 'call for proposal system'
  • Standard template documentation that can be used for projects
  • Deployment and training

Anesh Meghraj, Operations Director at nTier, mentioned that the choice of nTier was logical since, they had done a very similar solution at the Water Research Commision (WRC). He mentioned that the solution at SAWS, would probably be based on Adempiere as a platform and the custom requirements would be built using the latest web technologies.
